The Executive of the Langley Seniors in Action team is extremely proud of the on-going transportation advocacy of one of our Directors, Ron Bergen. Ron is a tireless supporter of accessibility planning and a notable commentator on the promotion of inclusionary infrastructure and enhanced transit options both within our community and beyond.

He recently spoke to the media to highlight the need for the para-transit HandyDART system to be brought back ”in house” within the TransLink transit system.

According to Ron, “HandyDART needs fixing, as the present service model of contracting out is not providing seniors and people with disabilities services, and the treatment, they deserve. HandyDART needs to be publicly insourced to ensure equitable treatment for all transit users.”
